I just left the North Woods of Saskatchewan, Canada.  This is a trip I’ve been dreaming of since I was a kid.  I can remember reading about it in Field & Stream magazine with my Dad and thinking how awesome it would be to go there.  Well, I finally made the trip this year and it was all I dreamed about.  It took me 5 days to fill my tag and what a 5 days it was.  Battling 20 below temps and 12 hour sits was quite a challenge for a southern boy from Louisiana.  We would take quads in before daylight, some of the rides were close to an hour, and 25 mph ride in 20 below was Coooooolllddd!!!!

Kenneth and his Saskatchewan Whitetail

My most memorable day was of course the day I shot my deer.  I had passed on 5 smaller bucks that day when he showed up.  He never made a sound, he just came out of nowhere like a ghost.  Ill never forget that chocolate rack coming through the snow covered trees.  It was just like my dad and I had read about.  I was fortunate in making a good shot and he went only 30 yards before piling up.  When I walked up on him I was amazed at his body size along with the size of his rack. My dream had come true and i couldn’t wait to share the story and show my dad the footage.  I can’t wait until next year!!!
