Why Wise Men Matter

Spring Chronicles

By: Jason Cruise

Kirk Whitmore has killed more turkeys than Butterball. He’s a gentle man. Intense and passionate about turkeys, yet gentle in the hunt.

Kirk Whitmore is a life-long farmer. And a good one. He serves his family and his community with that same passion in Arkansas County, Arkansas, which is ground zero for mallard migration.

Kirk Whitmore. All Farmer. All American.

Kirk Whitmore. All Farmer. All American.

We began talking about missed opportunities. Farmers, I’ve noticed, are humble, and I suppose that’s why his words of wisdom planted deep within the root system of my sole when he said, “The miss is not nearly as important as how you handle it after the miss.”

Today on Spring Chronicles you’re going to get to walk alongside a man whom I consider to be a world class statesman. He’s only 5’8, but I promise you that you’ll never meet a giant that can topple his heart.
