Shredded Duck Tacos Recipe

Yield: 8 shredded duck tacos
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 4-5 hours


  • 1 ½ pounds duck breast
  • 8 flour tortillas
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Tabasco, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chili seasoning
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can Mexican beer
  • Cilantro leaves
  • Jack cheese, shredded


1. For several hours marinate duck with olive oil, onions, lime, Tabasco, chili seasoning and garlic.

2. Once marinated, brown the duck on each side in a frying pan and then place in a roasting pan. Add a can of Mexican beer, cover with lid or foil and place in a 300-degree oven for 4 to 5 hours or until the meat pulls off the bone easily. With two forks, pull apart the duck, shredding the meat.

3. Toss the shredded meat with salsa and pile the meat into tortillas with copious amounts of cilantro leaves and shredded Jack cheese. Serve and enjoy.
