Chad Hall's Mountain Goat | Location: Northwest Territories | Length of shot: 200yds | Weapon used: Gunwerks LR-1000 7mm Rem Mag | Size of animal: 8.5" billy
Details of hunt: We were glassing from the mountain top and we spotted a nice billy a half mile for us. We made a move on him. As we got into position he dropped off the off face out of site. We ran to get in front of him. We went too far and the billy popped up 20 yards behind us. I swung my gun around and fired quickly but shot a boulder half way there that I could see in the scope. The bill dropped back off the cliff face. We took off running to get a better vantage point. When we spotted him again there were two billies. We picked out the biggest one. I hung off the cliff face and the billy was nearly 600ft below me. The guide held my belt and I made a perfect shot without slipping off the cliff!
Chad Hall's Mountain Caribou | Location: Northwest Territories | Length of shot 100 yds | Weapon used Gunwerks LR-1000 7mm Rem Mag |Size of caribou: mid 300's
Details of hunt: We spotted a caribou across the mountain. We hiked several hours through a large creek and back up the mountain to get to the location. On the way, we were surprised by a second caribou feeding in a gulley. We immediately setup for the shot. He bedded down and we had to wait him out an hour. The guide threw some rocks into the bush to get the caribou to standup but he decided to run instead. I shot him as he cleared the trees and dumped him in his tracks!
Patrick Scrogin's Mountain Caribou | Length of shot: 653 yards | Weapon used: GUNWERKS 6.5x284 Mountain X | Size of animal: score 390 to 400
Details of hunt: We nicknamed the Caribou Fingers because of his tops. We were after him for a couple of days walking up and down the mountains. I had my mind made up if I didn't get this one, I would go home without one. The shot on this guy was well over 600 yards shooting uphill. I had to shoot in a very awkward position. I packed the horns on my pack, which was very tough having only one leg. The terrain was steep and slick. It took probably 3 hours of walking for me to get back to camp.
