Hunt.Fish.Feed Kicked-off Second Annual Program in Las Vegas Tuesday During SHOT Show
Las Vegas, NV – Jan. 19, 2010 – Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. national public affairs initiative received high praise from Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman today in Las Vegas as both officials were present to kick-off the second annual Hunt.Fish.Feed program at the Shade Tree Shelter. The Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative is a unique outreach program that taps a new food source—game meat and fish donated by sportsmen—to feed those struggling with hunger across America. Hunt.Fish.Feed is a partnership between Sportsman and Safari Club International Foundation’s Sportsmen Against Hunger.
Mayor Oscar B. Goodman: “We’re thrilled to kick-off the second annual ‘Hunt.Fish.Feed’ event here in Las Vegas. This is the coolest event – truly so beneficial and utterly unique. Sportsman has stepped up again to take care of our community, and we are most appreciative.”
Governor Jim Gibbons: “During this unprecedented economic time, with so many suffering, we should give thanks to Sportsman and SCIF for helping our state’s less fortunate. Hunt.Fish.Feed is an innovative, charitable program, one that continues to thrive and help throughout this tough economic climate.”
Today’s Hunt.Fish.Feed event fed more than 350 women and children in need at the Shade Tree Shelter. The Las Vegas event was the first of a multi-city Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM program, which will travel to 10 U.S. cities to feed the needy and bring awareness to the fight against hunger.
“In today's economy, many shelters and food banks across America are experiencing an increase in need while their food supplies decrease. We are proud to continue our partnership with SCIF to bring Hunt.Fish.Feed to our nation’s needy, especially at this time when even more are in need,” said Jeff Paro, CEO of InterMedia Outdoors, parent company of Sportsman Channel. “We are so pleased to help the worthy citizens of Las Vegas and support this community.”
