“The Cat Man” Tracks BIG cats on Outlanders Limited Draw
New Berlin, WI – (June 7, 2012) It’s not often a hunter’s favorite game animal is a mountain lion – however; this is exactly the case on this week’s Outlanders Limited Draw exclusively on Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American sportsman. This particular hunt is certain to leave enthusiasts in disbelief and wanting more as guest host, Mel Siefke, makes the most of his lion hunt in the backcountry of Montana. Do NOT miss the extraordinary hunt on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 9 p.m. EST.
Mel Siefke, AKA; “The Cat Man”, has been hunting mountain lions since he was 10 years old. Besides his day job as a taxidermist, Siefke has a deep passion for hunting one of the most elusive animals in the wild. The techniques and equipment behind locating and harvesting a lion are practiced during the must watch episode. The first two days in the deep woods finds the team searching high and low. Their efforts yielded little results until day three when fresh lion tracks are discovered.
“After the dogs were able to find the tracks, I was wondering if I would even have a shot with my bow,” said Mel Siefke, Outlander. “When our dogs chased the lion into another area, I once again had troubles getting a clean shot, but finally made it count with my bow. I was very impressed by its sheer size. Hunting lions is certainly my passion and one that I will continue to do as long as I am able to.”
Viewers will also learn on-the-field dressing techniques of a mountain lion and how to enjoy this wonderful animal at the dinner table. Siefke dispels the controversial myths associated with the species and gives viewers a clear idea of the best hunting methods.
