‘The Duke’s’ Rifle Reviewed on NRA’s Guns & Gold
New Berlin, WI – (February 18, 2013) If you are seeking a particular firearm, chances are you will find it at the Tulsa Gun Show! Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, brings audiences to the world’s largest gun show on this must see episode of NRA’s Guns & Gold.
Gun evaluators Phil Schreier and Jim Supica of the NRA National Firearms Museum review and dissect several rifles and shotguns that date back to the 1800’s. Viewers looking for candid insight and spot on evaluations of firearms, need to tune into NRA’s Guns & Gold on Monday, February 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
Schreier and Supica are proud to bring their skills to the Tulsa Gun Show – a show that offers a wide variety of firearms that cater to most gun enthusiasts. The first item brought to the table is an 1861 Springfield rifle. This is a .58 caliber rifle that was prolific in the Civil War. “This is one of the first guns that showed America’s industrial might,” said Curator, Phil Schreier. “The rifle is in ‘relic’ condition and boasts and impressive value that may surprise viewers.”
A myriad of guns continue to flow past the Curators, including an Italian Single Shot Shotgun (16 gauge). Supica is very impressed with the condition of the gun and the unusual folding design. Last but certainly not least is a visit to the NRA National Firearms Museum “Hollywood Guns” exhibit for a close-up and personal look at a Winchester 1892 rifle. This gun was used in John Wayne’s 1939 breakout film, Stagecoach. Supica evaluates the iconic lever-action rifle and also discusses the first sixgun used by ‘The Duke’ on film.
