During this second week of black bear camp on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska, long-time contributors Larry D. Jones and Lon Lauber continue Lon’s quest for a true giant. An experienced bear hunter and former Alaska resident, Lon has seen his share of out-sized bears, so he sets his sights on a real bruiser. As is often the case, Lon’s patience is rewarded in very BIG way. In our second “Tech Talk” of the quarter, you’ll learn about Easton’s micro-diameter arrow revolution, and in the “Dead On” column, professional hunting archer Randy Ulmer takes on the sometimes tricky task of attaining proper broadhead alignment.

It’s the opening weekend of Ohio’s Whitetail season and the boys are excited. After months of preparation and anticipation Karl and Paul hit the trees on opening day. Karl has a moment of indecision and misses an opportunity at a really nice Ohio buck, but gets a chance to redeem himself when a gnarly, high and tight buck sneaks in. Then, before they can even get the bow cocked back, Paul gets an opportunity to fill his tag on opening day. Finally, Shawn Perdue, has been dreaming of a buck he calls Wide Load, and on the second day of the season, his dreams may come true.
On Friday's All-New Episode: Dan gets things started after returning from a moose hunt in Ontario and missing out on the early season hunting. Then, Mike and Darren hit the trees on their first night in town and double up on an unbelievable hunt.
