Southern Chaos

Southern Chaos follows the lives of hosts Josh Galt, Garrett Hartley and Stephen West.

Josh is a successful hunting and fishing guide who takes pride in his Louisiana heritage. Garrett’s an NFL kicker for the Cleveland Browns who is tackling the outdoors with the same accuracy he’s practiced with on the field. Stephen’s a longtime outdoorsman and south Texas hunt operator with a thirst for big-game.

Whether they’re pursuing colossal gators on the Mississippi basin, chasing evasive hogs on their airboats or smashing varmint on a local golf course, these boys aren’t afraid to break the mold and get messy.

I am a man of strong faith, raised by a single mother and my grandparents, both of whom are preachers. I respect and appreciate what the Lord provides us through opportunity. That same respect is carried into my family and their safety.

I’m a passionate outdoorsman who takes pride in being a self-taught hunter. lt was through watching the legends on TV and pure passion that I learned to read animal behaviors. Those same legends taught me to rely on the moon phases to hunt smarter, not harder, to hold true to my ethics, and to respect the balance between man and nature.

I’m a professional NFL Kicker who just signed with the Cleveland Browns. I’d be the first person to tell you that I’m still learning about hunting and the outdoor lifestyle. Hunting with Josh has been my saving grace over the years, and it has fed my love of the outdoors and desire for accuracy. Raised in a household of a Marine Corps sniper, I’ve been shooting, cleaning and collecting guns since I was 6, but I didn’t truly start hunting till I was in high school.

It’s what I train for all year. That one opportunity, those 1.3 seconds that can change your life forever and I have to make them count. This is what I prepare for, what I live for; that moment of perfect accuracy, followed by the sound of an animal hitting the ground.

To me it’s not about the destination, but the adventure along the way. A successful hunting trip isn’t about the kill, but the things you learn, the places you see, and the people you meet.

My dad took me hunting from the moment he could walk. I  was raised by a south Texas ranching family, so every weekend was spent working the ranch or out hunting. Big game hunting is my forte, but the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve branched out. His life revolves around hunting. It’s not just a hobby, it’s a passion, it’s a lifestyle, it’s what I do.
