Originally from North Florida, Hal Martin was introduced to deer hunting in North Florida and quail hunting on plantations in South Georgia by his Uncle Wayne. As the child of an Air Force father, Hal lived in Kansas where he learned to hunt turkey, pheasants and quail in the nearby states of the Midwest. Hal relocated to Northwest LA around 1980 where he is a member and President of Palmetto Farms Hunting Club along with fellow Old School Outdoors founders Greg, Dennis and Max. This is where he began his primary passion of waterfowl hunting. Hal begins most years in Canada and then duck hunts in Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, as well as North and South Louisiana. Hal was introduced to Wyoming Elk hunting by Dennis, and has also hunted various game in Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay as well as many other states back home.
Originally a CPA by trade, Hal is now retired as CEO and owner of one of the top ten largest food service distribution companies in the US. He currently manages multiple investments which offers him ample time to pursue his passion of hunting. When there is not a hunting season open, he is an avid salt water and freshwater fisherman. He currently resides on Black Bayou Lake in Northwest LA and enjoys being a father to his three adult children, Amy, Chris and Ashley.
