Born in Gilliam, Louisiana located in the Red River bottoms of Northwest Louisiana and graduated from LA Tech University in 1974 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He is an avid hunter, outdoorsman and reloader and has hunted every year since 1972 in his favorite “Deer” state, Texas. His hunting adventures include the Red River bottoms of North Louisiana to the plains of Africa, the dove fields of Argentina as well as many of the lower 48 states. He now resides in Bossier Parish, LA, with his wife Becky and enjoys spending time with family and friends at their Double G Ranch in Val Verde County, Texas.
Graduated from LSU with a degree in Wildlife Management, in 1977. When he was ten years old, two of his uncles brought him deer hunting and his passion for deer hunting was ignited. In 1970, Dennis’s next door neighbor introduced him to duck hunting. Dennis has hunted elk hunting in Wyoming and New Mexico, waterfowl in Canada, plains game in Africa and fishing in the Cayman Islands.
Born in Magnolia, Arkansas and grew up in Blanchard, Louisiana, He is an avid waterfowler and hunts from Canada to Louisiana. Max is a member and president of Palmyra Hunting Club on Davis Island. Max enjoys hunting, fishing offshore, general aviation, sporting clays and anything else that has an element of adventure. He has three children Levi, Tanner, and Emily. Max currently resides in Bossier Parish, LA.
Originally from North Florida, Hal Martin was introduced to deer hunting in North Florida and quail hunting on plantations in South Georgia by his Uncle Wayne. As the child of an Air Force father, Hal lived in Kansas where he learned to hunt turkey, pheasants and quail in the nearby states of the Midwest. Hal relocated to Northwest LA around 1980 where he is a member and President of Palmetto Farms Hunting Club along with fellow Old School Outdoors founders Greg, Dennis and Max. This is where he began his primary passion of waterfowl hunting. Hal begins most years in Canada and then duck hunts in Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, as well as North and South Louisiana. Hal was introduced to Wyoming Elk hunting by Dennis, and has also hunted various game in Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay as well as many other states back home.
Originally a CPA by trade, Hal is now retired as CEO and owner of one of the top ten largest food service distribution companies in the US. He currently manages multiple investments which offers him ample time to pursue his passion of hunting. When there is not a hunting season open, he is an avid salt water and freshwater fisherman. He currently resides on Black Bayou Lake in Northwest LA and enjoys being a father to his three adult children, Amy, Chris and Ashley.
