James C. Reed started hunting when he was just four years old, as a child growing up on the family farm in Iowa. After spending his formative years farming and chasing the state’s record-book whitetails, he relocated to the beautiful mountains of Idaho. He has hunted extensively in the USA, Canada, and Asia, and a veteran of 17 African safaris.
James’s love of hunting has led him to a successful career in the outdoor industry. For the past 11 years he has been the Director of Sales and Marketing for Sports Afield, America’s premier hunting adventure magazine, and he also serves as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Rowland Ward and as Director of BookYourHunt North America.
James attends hunting and conservation meetings from Alaska to South Africa and has been a featured speaker at several national events, including the Congressional Sportsman’s Foundation. A passionate conservationist and tireless promoter of hunting as a conservation tool, he is a life member of the Wild Sheep Foundation and the Guide Outfitter Association of British Columbia, and is a member of Dallas Safari Club, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Safari Club International. He enjoys sharing his adventures with his wife, Mariah, and six children who are all avid outdoor enthusiasts.
